My skin has been my worst enemy lately. I never had any skin problems or acne until I turned 20. My skin just decided to go crazy. When I started getting breakouts, I started using an expensive soy cleanser that was supposed to help, but I ended up being allergic to it. It caused a rash that lasted for what felt like forever. I changed cleansers and the rash went away… and then I developed milia on my cheeks. Milia are are small, hard, white bumps. They can last for weeks, months, and sometimes longer! I ended up doing a lot of research and I found out that the cleanser I was using was known to cause milia, especially if a person has sensitive skin! Just my luck! If you’ve read my other blogs then you probably already know that my skin is super sensitive. Nothing that I had tried was working for me. I literally couldn’t win for losing. I finally decided that I was using too many products on my skin and it was doing nothing besides irritating it and causing more problems. I threw away all of the products that I had bought and I started a new skincare. My latest routine is working very well (fingers crossed that it stays that way.) It’s very simple and effective.
Step 1-
I start by rubbing a small amount of my POND’S Cold Cream Cleanser onto my skin and then I wipe it off with a warm washcloth. You can rinse it off with water but it works best for me when I use a washcloth. I use this product morning and night. This product is an oldie but a goodie! It is so gentle & refreshing. It takes off every trace of my makeup. I love that it doesn’t feel greasy and it doesn’t clog my pores at all. I have oily skin so at first I was nervous about using a moisturizing cleanser. After playing around with it for a while, I found that since it is moisturizing, I don’t have to use an actual moisturizer after washing my face. It works as a 2 in 1 cleanser + moisturizer for me which is awesome because that saves money and time! I have purchased a cleanser and a moisturizer separately in all of my past skincare routines. That ends up being pretty expensive. I am extremely happy with this product! I love my cold cream cleanser 🙂
Step 2-
I pour a small amount of T.N. Dickinson’s Witch Hazel Astringent onto a cotton pad and wipe my face with it. I use this morning and night. It works as a toner for me. I love this product! It is a 100% natural astringent. It is for oily, irritated, red, damaged, blemished, or inflamed skin. Along with my sensitive skin, I also have a lot of redness. This products reduces the redness. It also keeps my oil and acne under control! I struggled for years with oily skin. I bought very expensive products and nothing worked. Someone recommended T.N. Dickinson’s Witch Hazel Astringent and I don’t know how I ever lived without it. It has truly been a miracle! Who would have thought that a $3.99 drugstore product could change my life?!
Step 3-
This step actually contains tw0 products. I use them together every single night. I am obsessed with Luna Sleeping Night Oil and Sunday Riley – Good Genes Treatment, 30ml . First, I massage one drop of Luna Sleeping Night Oil into my skin. Five minutes later I massage one pump of Sunday Riley – Good Genes Treatment, 30ml into my skin. If you’d like to know more about these two products and what they’ve done for my skin, you can check out the blog here >> https://glamorousgossip.com/2016/09/15/i-am-obsessed-with-these-two-sunday-riley-skincare-products-heres-why/
That’s all for my daily skincare routine. Like I said, my routine is so simple. I spend around 5 minutes each morning and night. Over the years of wasting money on so many non-effective products, I realized that less is more when it comes to my skincare. I found the few products that work for me and that’s exactly what I’m sticking with!
EXTRA steps that I do for my skin— These two steps have helped to keep my skin clear and glowy. I exfoliate every other day with my homemade exfoliator. I made it one day when I was out of exfoliator and I ended up loving it. It’s cheap, easy, and effective. I mix organic sugar with organic refined coconut oil. I make a lot and store it in a jar. You can put an equal amount of each. I add more sugar than oil because I like the rough texture. It makes the perfect scrub for my skin. You can play around with it to see what you like best for your skin! I also believe in applying a face mask at least once a week. Face masks have so many wonderful benefits for your skin. I loved reading this! I’m excited to try the Sunday Riley products!
