Being a makeup artist, choosing professional grade brushes for the job is a very important task for me. Cheap and low-quality brushes = a nightmare! Lets be honest, the brush you use is going to either make or break your look. I don’t want brushes that fall apart, fray, shed, and ones that won’t blend makeup well. What I do want are strong, high-quality brushes that can be used, like A LOT, and still hold up for years. I need brushes that will stay loyal to me under all circumstances. Are you following? Ok, great. So now I will tell you my biggest secret on how I get a beautiful and seamless makeup application on myself and my clients every single time. The secret is my brush. Simple, right? But seriously, the tools I use are magical.

On to brush care! The way you treat your brushes means everything. If you want the brush to be good to you, then you have to be good to it and take excellent care of it. Cleansing your brushes is extremely important, regardless of if you’re a makeup artist or not! Not cleansing your brushes = an over load of bacteria which = BREAKOUTS. No one wants acne, especially if something as simple as not cleaning your brush could be the cause of it. It is so easy. Cleaning them will also keep them soft. The gunkier the brush, the stiffer the bristles become which means you’re going to get a not so seamless application. Obviously no one would want a stiff and nasty brush on their face making streaks and spreading bacteria anyways. I think I’ve made my point clear! Just clean your brushes, ok?!
