Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Makeup
What it is:
15-hour wearing foundation that stays in place through heat, humidity, and nonstop activity.
What it does for me:
I can not say enough great things about this foundation. The humidity and heat index where I live is insane, especially during May, June, July, August, September, and even October! It is so hard to find a foundation that can handle that! This gem gives me a matte finish and keeps me shine-free all day. When I tried this foundation a few years ago, it was love at first.. application? 🙂 It stays in place all day long. I could sleep in it (I won’t actually sleep in it) but if I did, it would still be there the next morning. It claims to be a 15-hour wearing foundation but for me I think it would last for 24+ hours. It doesn’t budge. Not even with sweat or water! The coverage is great. I start of with 1 drop and then build it up until I’m satisfied. This stuff covers all flaws without feeling heavy and looking cakey.
MAC ‘Pro Longwear’ Nourishing Waterproof Foundation
What it is:
A nourishing, waterproof foundation that lasts for 24 hours.
What is does for me:
Oh my, where do I start?! This foundation has been my baby since the day it came out in stores. I always try new foundations, but I come back to this one every time. My skin is not the same without it! Just like the Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Makeup , this foundation makes it look easy to beat the heat. It doesn’t budge! Sweat and water can’t touch this tough guy. This is my summer foundation and my go-to if I want full coverage. If you’re going to the beach or spending a day on the lake, this foundation is a MUST. You can literally swim or sweat all day and still be fully covered.
LORAC ‘POREfection ® ‘ Foundation
What it is:
An oil, paraben and fragrance free foundation that is infused with anti-aging antioxidants of vitamins A & E, olive leaf extract, lemon fruit extract and papaya fruit extract to help soothe, nourish and rejuvenate skin. SPF 20 provides protection from UVA/UVB rays to help keep skin healthy, youthful and radiant.
What it does for me:
This foundation is one that is not very known or talked about. I have issues with large pores 😦 so one day I went on a hunt for a foundation that would help with that issue. I found this at Ulta and decided to try it. I was impressed. I love that it contains SPF 2o. It gives my skin a poreless appearance. That is truly a miracle! It isn’t heavy at all, but it covers well. It lasts up to 8 hours for me which isn’t as great as the ones above, but for what it does to my pores, I love it!
L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte 24HR Foundation
What it is:
A medium coverage 24HR foundation with an air-light texture and a demi-matte finish. It has a super gliding mattifying formula with a high water content for maximum comfort that lasts. Contains Shine Defy Blotting Spheres that act like blotting paper to mimic makeup artist gesture, instantly absorbing sweat and oil without disturbing color pigments.
What it does for me:
I really like this one. It is a cheaper foundation option. It definitely compares to high-end brands! It covers well and has a nice variety of colors. I get about 8 hours without having to touch up. It keeps me oil-free when I set it with a powder.
tarte Amazonian clay 12-hour full coverage foundation SPF 15
What it is:
A long-lasting 12 hour foundation powered by Amazonian clay. A skin-perfecting formula with UVA/UVB SPF 15. It’s full-coverage and supremely blendable and buildable formula has a weightless texture and is available in a broad range of shades.
What is does for me:
It stays on pretty good as long as I apply a good primer first. Throughout the day I notice little patches where it wears off and it seems to slide around. I can’t wear it in the summer at all. My oily skin + heat + humidity seem to effect it. I stick to wearing this one during the winter months and I love it! The coverage is great. All of the colors seem to look too yellow or too red on my skin, but that is not the case for everyone. I have a weird skin tone that is usually pretty hard to match. I actually like to mix a drop of this one with a drop of my MAC ‘Pro Longwear’ Nourishing Waterproof Foundation and it makes the perfect little foundation cocktail!
Soap & Glory One Heck of a Blot Foundation
What it is:
A fabulous, flawless, full coverage foundation. It is an all-day liquid-to-powder foundation with Shine Bloc 12-hour long wear technology and Super-Blur powders. Offers ultimate shine control designed to give skin a flawless, ‘non-cakey’, soft focus finish. Perfection in a bottle.
What is does for me:
I adore this foundation. The only problem is that there are only 4 colors to choose from which makes it impossible for every person to use it. If there were more color choices, this foundation would be very popular for people with oily skin! It stays on great and the coverage is on point. I like that it dries to a powder finish. It looks so flawless and natural.
MAC ‘Studio Fix’ Fluid Foundation SPF 15
What it is:
An oil-controlling formula that offers a natural matte finish with medium to full coverage.
What it does for me:
This is a foundation that I have worn on and off since high school. The coverage is unbeatable. It stays on for a very long time. I try to only wear this one when I am having a bad skin day and need lots of extra coverage because it’s pretty thick and tends to clog my pores. Clogged pores = acne breakouts. This foundation is beautiful for pageants and special events like that. Since it does contain an SPF, it can make you look washed out in photos if the flash is used. Overall, I love this foundation and I keep a bottle in my makeup kit at all times!
What it is:
A high-pigment, full-coverage foundation with a matte finish and 24-hour wear—now with a new look in a total of 30 shades
What it does for me:
It keeps my skin looking fresh and matte for a very long time without having to touch up. It does not slide around on my skin. Once it dries, this baby isn’t going anywhere! It’s one of those foundations that are known as “cakey” but it actually isn’t when it is applied the correct way. Adding too much at one time is a big mistake that many people make. With a full-coverage foundation like this one, you should always start with a small amount and then add a little more until you’ve reached your desired coverage. This foundation is seriously amazing!
TOO FACED Born this way foundation
What it is:
Born This Way is an oil-free foundation that masterfully diffuses the line between makeup and skin. For coverage so undetectable, you can’t see the makeup and you can’t see imperfections—all that’s left is naturally radiant skin that looks like you were Born This Way.
What it does for me:
This one is my go-to foundation on days that I don’t want a ton of coverage. It’s so light-weight. It feels like I’m wearing nothing. I love that it still covers all redness and imperfections. It is hydrating but also oil-free. As long as I wear a good mattifying primer underneath I am good to go!

Keep in mind that these are MY top favorite foundations. These are the ones that I have tested out on my skin and they work best for me. I do have oily skin so most of them are oil-free and mattifying. Most of them will work best for normal, combination, and oily skin types. I know these will not work for everyone, so I will be posting a guide to finding the perfect foundation next. Stay tuned. 🙂
