As most of you know, I am a huge Jaclyn Hill fan/supporter, and have been since she started her channel on YouTube many years ago. I feel like I can relate to her on so many levels. I can relate with her in the beauty world, but also in personal ways, such as getting married young and her struggles from when she first started on YouTube. I watch a ton of beauty gurus, but Jaclyn is the only one I truly keep up with. I watch every single video on her channel, along with keeping up with her on snapchat on a daily basis. She is just so beautiful from the inside and out. She is inspiring, very passionate about her work, and just overall such an amazing person! As an artist and beauty guru, it is so nice to follow someone so REAL! That is why I love to keep up with her. I have watched her grow over the years and it is so inspiring to see how far she has come. With all of that being said, I guess you can understand how excited I was when I found out about her palette!
The day I found out about the collaboration between Jaclyn Hill and Morphe, I was over the moon to say the least! I couldn’t wait to find out more about it. Jaclyn definitely kept all of us “beauty gurus” on our toes with the little hints and reveals along the way. When I finally saw the palette and the swatches on YouTube for the first time, I was on cloud nine. I seriously could not wait to get my hands on it. I marked the release date on my calendar, set my alarm, and was waiting at least an hour before time just to make sure I got the palette in my cart. I was stressing and sweating at the thought of them selling out. GUESS WHAT… they did sell out, but thankfully I got one in my cart and ordered it before they did. It shipped a couple of days later, and I literally stalked UPS until they delivered my package!
DELIVERY DAY
I heard the UPS truck stop and I almost hurt myself getting to the door. And there it was. The palette of my dreams wrapped up in the cutest, most classy packaging I had ever seen. 😍 It was a very dreamy moment! I opened it up and I was like ok, time to throw all of my other eyeshadow palettes away! Lol, but seriously.. It was even more beautiful in person than I had imagined. Here is a small boomerang clip and a photo from Instagram that I took when it arrived.

FINAL THOUGHTS
PRICE: This palette is $38 + tax & shipping.
You get 35 gorgeous colors. A lot of times palettes from different brands will have very similar colors, but that is not the case here. I don’t have any of these colors in any palette that I own. They are all individually unique which is pretty amazing. You get a mixture of shimmers, foils, glitters, satins, and mattes. I think that $38 is an incredible price for the amount of product you get, the quality, and of course, the variety of colors. Some high-end brand palettes can range between $50-$150 with less quality & quantity. The Jaclyn Hill Palette easily compares to most of those. It is actually even better than a lot of the expensive ones to me! Would you choose 5 eyeshadows for $50 or 35 eyeshadows for $38??? UMM.. IS THAT EVEN A QUESTION?! You are getting a professional quality palette for such a cheap price. You just can’t beat the price!
PACKAGING: The packaging was very simple, elegant, classy, and pretty. Just like Jaclyn! It is white with beautiful chrome writing which reflected a silver/champagne color. It is sturdy and easy to carry, but definitely too big for your purse. It isn’t one that is super compact for on the go, but with 35 shadows, it would be impossible to make it smaller. I will travel with mine by packing it in a larger bag. As an artist, this is actually the perfect sized palette for work!
QUALITY: Like I said, the quality compares to a lot of high-end, expensive palettes. This palette is most definitely professional quality!
QUANTITY: 35 shadows with a nice size pan, all for $38. Enough said!
TEXTURE/APPLICATION: So each eyeshadow has its own unique texture. They are all extremely creamy, smooth, blendable, and buildable. They are pretty much BUTTER! The shimmers, glitters, and foils apply best when they are wet or when you use your finger instead of a brush. If you’re looking to get the most pigment out of them, you will need to spray some type of setting spray on your brush first, such as the MAC ‘Prep + Prime’ Fix+ Finishing Mist • M·A·C • $24 The satins are awesome.. and pretty much just like normal satin shadows. The mattes, omg the mattes. They are just incredible! They are very creamy and powdery, which is great as long as you pick up a small amount. If you pick up too much, you’ll more than likely make a big mess. Unlike other shadows, you don’t have to dig in these to get the pigment to show up. They show up by applying just a small amount, which means it’ll probably last a long time since you’re not having to use a ton of product. I recommend starting by applying a small amount, and then build it up until you’ve reached the dimension you’re looking for. They all truly blend like a dream!
COLOR/APPLICATION: As you can see in the swatches, what you see is truly what you get. The colors are the same when you apply them as they are sitting in the pan. They are very rich and vibrant. There are a lot of warm-toned shadows, but you get some cool tones as well. I love that the colors are laid out based on looks if that makes sense. Like if you look closely, each color is next to another color that can be used together for a look.
This is a palette that even the least experienced, to the most experienced person/ artist can use. It can be used in so many different ways and can create a million looks. It is extremely versatile. There’s a color in this palette for everyone. All skin tones can use this which is great! I highly recommend this palette. I was hoping it was as good as I wanted it to be, simply because I knew I would have to give an honest review whether I liked it or not. I am being totally honest, it is amazing. I haven’t found anything wrong with it, and trust me, I have put it to the test! It doesn’t disappoint. I love mine!! I am so excited and impressed at how amazing it turned out.
